Howdenshire Music Project is passionate about bringing high quality classical music performances to communities in and around Howden and the surrounding region of East Yorkshire.

The project runs a popular free lunchtime concert series on the third Thursday of each month, featuring a varied line-up of professional musicians. Concerts are held at our beautiful partner venue of Howden Minster - a magnificent historic church whose imposing tower can be seen for many miles around the area.

Howdenshire Music Project was founded in 2019 and is a registered charity. The project is committed to supporting the next generation of musicians, and is working in partnership with local schools and the East Riding Music Hub to provide access to educational musical opportunities for young people in the area. The project also aims to support and provide a platform for emerging and established professional musicians and composers.

In summer 2020 Howdenshire Music Project launched an appeal to raise funds for a new grand piano to ensure the future of the lunchtime concert series and become a community resource. The response was overwhelming and, by December 2020, the funds had been raised. Thank you to everyone who supported this appeal! You can read more about the project's new piano here.
