About the Concerts
Howden Minster presents an exciting series of concerts between March and November 2020, ranging from classical and opera to musicals, jazz and film music.
The Minster is one of East Yorkshire's finest churches and has a superb acoustic enjoyed by musicians and audiences alike.
With line-ups ranging from soloists and small ensembles to massed choirs, opera companies and brass bands, there's music for all to enjoy.
Monthly Thursday lunchtime concerts, presented by the Howdenshire Music Project, showcase the magic of chamber music - from flute, cello, french horn and violin to soprano, mezzo, baritone and piano duet. Performers have broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and worked with groups including Sydney Opera House and Glyndebourne.
Monday cream tea organ recitals run every week through the summer months, featuring talented performers from churches across England as well as from Vienna and Thailand! Why not stay and enjoy one of the Minster's celebrated cream teas afterwards.
Monthly Saturday evening concerts feature larger groups including one of the north of England's top brass bands, a male voice choir, brass quintet and a fantastic vocal group who have performed on BBC Songs of Praise.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Howden Minster Concert Series.
